/ March 12, 2013I am intrigued by blog posting like this. I never can figure out the point that the writer is trying to make. Is this to arm Christians for battle against homosexuals or their supporters? Is this to show others that God hates them? Is this to represent straight people superiority over gays because God loves us more?
I believe every verse listed above. I think the Bible is a true representation of God’s heart, so please don’t think I’m a heretic.
But look back in history and see who else Christians aimed venom toward. Not too long ago hatred was targeted against divorced women. It wasn’t so much the men for some reason, but single women with children were seen as being the detriment to society. Another group of targeted people were couples of mixed races. Shunned, totally shunned. And both groups were beat up with the use of scripture.
How often do we see posts against gluttony or gossip? God also hated those sins. My belief is that these sins hit too close to our own lives and it is so much easier to address the sins of others than the sins we harbor.
You may choose to delete this comment, and I support your right to do what you feel you need to do. But before you do, ask yourself if your heart represents the heart of Christ. He ate meals with the most hated people of his day: tax collectors and prostitutes. He came to save them from their bondage. To put it simply … he loved them.
Love is the only outside influence that can change the hearts of others. Could I suggest that the next time you list scriptures regarding God’s thoughts on sexual impurity, you may want to also list how deeply he loves them. His arms are open for all … even homosexuals.

I’m glad that the post caught your eye. I try to make it so that it isn’t bland but rather eye catching. On the other hand, with this category of posts that I am doing, it is labeled “Armed to be Dangerous” (https://christiansareus.wordpress.com/welcome/armed-to-be-dangerous/); dangerous against SIN, against Satan and against the overall darkness of this world. I am only a half dozen posts or so into this resource right now, but the intent is to be able to arm Christians regarding what the Bible has to say about various topics. Yes, this topic seems a bit condemning but that is what the Bible says about homosexuality. I have studied the Word and have not found one positive thing said about this or any other sin – past, present or future.
That being said, the positives are that God loves the sinner (even you and I) to death, even to the death of His only begotten Son (John 3:16) on the cross.
As to your comment regarding Jesus having dined with sinners and befriended harlots. Remember the stories and you will realize 1) that Jesus didn’t go after the sinners, they came after Him and 2) the dinners and friendships always came after the person was repentant of the sins and the demons had been cast out. In relation to our world today, I hear alot of stories that begin just that way that attempt to justify one’s behaviors or hanging out in bars or other “dens of iniquities” so that the Christian can “be a positive influence to the lost”. I’m certain that that isn’t what Jesus was trying to get across to us, but rather later we are told to “come out from among them and be separate, sayeth the Lord”. We are to be set apart from sin and we are to be the examples to the sinners to the extent that the sinners (unredeemed) notice the difference (just like they did with Jesus) and come after us to find out what it is about us that is so different and at that point we are able to witness to them and show the love that Jesus intends us to show. In the mean time, He doesn’t intend for us, on the other side of the coin, to shun the “sinner” or badmouth them (the sinner) but rather “preach” to them the error of their ways and show them what they could have with a repentant life.
If you notice the category home page (above) you will notice that there are many topics listed on there that I either have addressed or intend to address, all of which I address the same way – only listing scripture verses that have to do with them, whether they condemn or condone the action the Bible/God makes that call. It should speak for itself in that regard. That all being said, there may be topics that I might think need more explaining to get the proper perspective and I will make that a separate article using the Bible as my basis. If that is the case, I will most likely make a link to the article at the bottom of the article in reference to the other. Sometimes I may forget to update the older of the two but I will attempt to make it as complete as possible as I am able.
This may be more appropriate for a completely different article and may make this comment too lengthy, but I will say it anyway. I have been in many different churches and have heard the sermons of many different preachers and, as ear-tickling as the sermons may be, most of them only talk about how all we need to do is “love” everybody and everything will be all right. The downfall to that is that, even though the sinners like the Christians more, the sinners are still going to hell. In fact most preachers NEVER breach the subject of hell. If a person is to have a personal relationship with Jesus there are certain things that they MUST do in order to establish that relationship and that is to know that if they continue on in their sin, they will end up in hell – cut and dried!
I would go out on a line here and say that 90% of all “Christians” don’t know what actually makes them a “Christian” and to top it off, if someone actually came to them and wanted them to show them how they can become a “Christian”, they wouldn’t have a clue how to do that. My intent with this blog is to educate the Christians on why they are or aren’t a Christian and establish them in their faith so that they are “able to give an answer to every man as to the hope that lies within them”. The complacency of our “Christians” today is actually a sign of the end times. We need to emphasize this as much as possible today.
Remember, please, that Christians (as well as anybody else) are responsible for their own actions to God and we will give an answer to Him one day. I am trying to do what I feel God has called me to do here. Where it might seem that I am hating on people by using parts of the Bible, one has to remember that I didn’t write the Bible nor did I mis-quote the Bible or portray incorrectly the position that God takes on the subject. I also have to say that I have a very deep love for homosexuals and drunkards and drug users and gossipers and gluttons and all other sinners. I either am one at some time, have been one and have repented and/or I know someone close to me that is like that and I love them all. If I didn’t love them, I would have no reason to even have this blog. I want to do my part for the Lord to make people better and as many as possible going to heaven.
Remember, God is the author of “tough love”. The Old Testament is full of it. Thankfully, the New Testament is full of God’s grace and mercy towards us that allows us to have a way out of the penalty of that “tough love”. Thank you, God!!!
