that when he cometh and knocketh,
they may open unto him immediately.

whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching:
verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself,
and make them to sit down to meat,
and will come forth and serve them.

or come in the third watch, and find them so,

71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.”

“And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping,
and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou?
couldest not thou watch one hour?“

at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 “Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 “And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch!“

Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22 “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise,
and shall shew signs and wonders,
to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.“
